Chief of Police - Biography

Chief Peter G Reichard's career in law enforcement spans more than 29 years. Prior to becoming Chief in New London, he served as the Deputy Police Chief under Chief Ackley. Chief Reichard's law enforcement career began in as a patrolman in the New Haven Police Department in 1988.  Reichard worked his way up through the ranks within the New Haven Police Department and became the Assistant Chief of Police assigned to the Investigative Services Division where he oversaw a number of high profile investigations.  Upon his retirement from the New Haven Police Department, Reichard was named Vice President of the Corporate Security Division at Bank of America until he returned to police service with the New London Police Department.  Reichard is a graduate of the FBI National Academy class #219, PERF SMIP, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Safety Administration.
