New London's Land Records date back to the mid 1600's and are full of rich history from early in life in the town. There is a continuous effort to restore and preserve New London's land records to ensure that history stays well documented and protected. All land records are open to the public and may be copied for a fee of $1.00 per page.
There are two public search terminals in the clerk's office. You are allowed to search for the records you need as well as research the land record books. If you know the property address but do not know who owns the property, the Assessor's office can assist you as well. Their office will supply you with a "field card or street card", indicating the Volume and Page of the recorded deed, as well as the current owner's name. Once you obtain the volume and page, the clerk's office will help you find the record. The Assessor's office is located at 15 Masonic Street New London CT, 06320. They can be reached at (860)447-5216.
