DETECTIVE BUREAU
The New London Police Department Detective Bureau consists of six detectives, a detective sergeant, and a secretary. The Bureau is responsible for the handling of all major crimes, including (but not limited to) homicides, sexual assaults, and violent felonies. The Bureau works in conjunction with several community organizations for the prevention and investigation of both financially- and sexually-based crimes. Efforts are often coordinated with state and federal agencies.
The Bureau works with the Connecticut State's Attorney's Office toward the successful prosecution of the cases set before them.
